The Storm rages on and a dirty mirror

In my previous post, I wrote about being in a moment of calmness in my life. I think I jinxed my situation because when Monday rolled around, it feels like I was hit by a massive rainstorm!

It all started on Monday when I forced my son to go to school. I really thought he was faking it. I go to work and get a call from the school. He was really sick and they wanted to send him home. My baby bat (my son) is old enough to walk home and has a house key so I gave permission. Turns out, his dad also caught the bug and was sick too.

Things at my job are picking up. There is a lot to do before the Christmas holidays and my boss asked me if I would be open to working full-time for a while. Having extra money before the Holidays would be lovely so I agreed to his offer.

Turns out, the baby bat was really sick and not faking it. I thought I was the worst mom in the world! Not only did the poor kid get a stomach virus, but he also got laryngitis! Long story short, when my son's dad felt better, he came over and helped out! Luckily, I was able to go to work for most of the week. I did miss work on Wednesday because I came down with the flu as well!

Needless to say, I am glad the week is over and will be working full-time for the next two weeks or so.

My week wasn't all that negative, though. A couple of weeks ago, thanks to my weight loss goals, I noticed that some of the old clothes that previously didn't fit me, now do! I now have a larger selection of clothes to wear and it is so much fun going through it all! It is like getting a cornucopia of "new" clothes! I remember around this time last year, I was living in leggings and geeky t-shirts! Plus, since I have to go to a physical office and no longer have the luxury of working from home, getting ready in the morning is fun! I really do dress up for myself. When I think I look cute, I feel good. The clothing I was wearing in these photos are actually pieces I have owned for years but put aside because they didn't fit me anymore. I knew I was going to lose weight and am so happy I decided to save my clothes. I knew they were going to fit me again! My tenacity paid off!

The bathroom at my work has a full-length mirror and I often sneak in to get some outfit posts. I thought it would be fun to share them here! Enjoy! PS. Ignore the streaks on the mirror. I am going to clean that, haha! I love my coworkers!

In the first photo, those spiderweb tights were too small a couple of months ago. They now fit! The dress is short-sleeved and I paired it with an old cardigan. In fact, it is the famous cardigan from this post! To add some cute flair, I pulled out my coffin pin and attached it to my cardigan! I just came in from outside, my glasses are still dark! I love those transition lenses!

Lastly, I love my shoes! I haven't worn these in ages! It's like getting new shoes all over again! I love shoes!

Again, I am gonna tackle that mirror, haha! I think I am the only one who bothers with it at the office but how else am I gonna take outfit posts? I am a busy woman and this is the most effective, convenient way! Here's to shameless narcissism! I wore this cute ensemble on Thursday. Again, these are pieces that didn't fit me a few months back and now they do! The only thing new is the shoes. I love these cute sneakers/boots from Killstar. The cat reminds me of Luna from Sailor Moon!  Happy me!

Next time, I promise, the mirror will be cleaned! You can tell from my face I still look kinda sick but not sick enough to miss another day of work! I actually had a really productive day!
