Discombobulated Corp Goth, Halloween 2022 edition

 Hello dear readers!

Boy, do I have a silly story for you and I am really excited to share it! 

It all started during the very early morning hours Monday morning (Halloween day} when my baby bat (my son) woke me up because he wasn't feeling good. He was sluggish and sniffling a lot. I let him sleep in my bed until my alarm goes off. 

The thing is, I have several alarms on my phone. It is the most annoying sound in the world too and I am almost guaranteed to get up except this time, I kept shutting off my alarms and falling into a deep sleep. My alarms go off every 10 minutes! My ability to fall into a deep sleep in a matter of seconds always amazes me. I always know when my last alarm goes off because it tells me in a robotic voice to "get your ass out of bed" and this time, I decided to rebel against the robot and set the alarm to snooze. The thing is, my baby bat and I can sleep through a nuclear explosion and when the snooze alarm went off, we slept through it. I don't remember how I got up but I did and had to rush to get ready. I decided to take an Uber to work because I thought it would save me time. My work really isn't far from my house and I felt more comfortable getting a lift than taking public transit. I should have taken public transit since three Uber drivers declined my request! I ended up being 15 minutes late and I had just started this job! I wasn't in trouble or anything but I hate being late! I even forgot my travel mug of coffee at home, much to my annoyance.

I did treat myself to a really nice lunch. There is this little coffee shop near my work that makes the best roast beef sandwich I ever had in my life! The coffee, on the other hand, was not strong enough for my liking but I tend to like my coffee stronger than most people do. I like to think it is because I built up a tolerance for it!

My day went by rather quickly and I rushed home via public transit and almost missed my stop because I was reading and got distracted but I made it home in one piece.  It is a yearly tradition for us to get Mcdonald's for supper before we go trick or treating and that is exactly what we did! This may be the last year I accompany my kid because he will be going to high school next year. It is bitter sweet but I have so many wonderful memories! 

The weather was really nice and mild too which was great! Even my dog, Storm joined in with the festivities and many people stopped to pet her and adore her because she was too cute in her costume! She was wearing bat wings! The people in my area are very generous with giving candy too and we had a wonderful time. All in all, despite the rough start of my day, it was a very successful and fun Halloween!

Baby bat is a huge Nu Metal and Korn fan and I got the mask for him a while ago at a store called Diabolik, here in Montreal.

 Lately, my new motto is "if he wanted to, he would" and I think it is a positive way to go about things. I am in my early forties and re-entered the dating field a few years ago after my divorce.  "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents." - Bob Ross Well, dear readers, I got a funny story for you all. It all happened on Friday when I went to a job interview. I thought I was prepared by laying out my clothes the night before. I forgot that most of my corp goth outfits don't quite fit me due to the weight gain that happened over the pandemic. I still got a whopping 15 pounds to lose and I thought "oh I am sure it will fit, I will be fine." That was my death wish indeed! Those are the best final words I could have muttered to myself before falling asleep last night! I got up early enough and since I had plenty of time to spare, I decided to watch a movie. I somehow lost track of time and had to get ready in a hurry. I picked out my best undergarments as I wanted to feel confident (there is a point to this, I will get to it in a bit, trust me!) It Always Happens When You're Not Looking

The conclusion of my first semester as a University student has finally arrived, and with it comes a much-needed moment of respite. The weight of essays and finals has been lifted from my shoulders, allowing me to take a deep breath and shift my focus towards my job search. Looking back, I realize that I might have underestimated the academic rigor of University-level coursework, especially as an undergraduate, first semester student who hasn't been in school for about 20 years!  Only towards the end of the semester did I realize that I should have started with lower-level courses (level 200) instead. No wonder I struggled so much! I vividly recall the tears I shed when I received unsatisfactory grades on my first midterm essay and another midterm exam for a different course. I don't need your approval

I recently posted about how I set personal goals for myself because this helps me to stay on track when it comes to my depression and anxiety. You can read this post here if you are interested.  In that post, I briefly mentioned how I might have BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) and I would like to expand on that. This is where I got the image One thing that many BPD sufferers do is seek external validation or approval and have an irrational fear of abandonment. As a result, we tend to push people away before they can leave us.  Very recently, I sought validation from someone who decided to be a huge ass dick and didn't give me the validation and approval I was so desperately seeking. At that time, I was furious. I *needed* the reassurance that this person wasn't going to abandon me, that this person cared about me and I was important.
