E-Bikes, Scooters, and Motorcycles - Oh My! A Love Story on Two Wheels

In my opinion, there is nothing more appealing and sexier than a man on a bike. When my partner expressed his desire to own an E-Bike for zipping around town, we decided it was time to make the purchase. Luckily, we stumbled upon a shop in our area with one E-Bike left in stock as the summer season was coming to an end, and it happened to be in the model and colour he desired.

Upon arriving at the shop, I spotted a gentleman working on an E-Bike that resembled a motorcycle with its striking red paint and imposing physique. I couldn't help but exclaim, "I want that bike!" My partner chuckled and pointed out that I might be too short for it. In defiance, I proclaimed myself a fearless adventurer who had no intention of riding a mini putt-putt around town. With his insistence, I approached the gentleman and asked if I could try sitting on his bike. Getting on it proved to be a challenge, with my feet barely touching the ground. Undeterred, we purchased my partner's E-Bike and embarked on our adventure.

One aspect that surprised me about E-Bikes was their weight and sturdiness. Additionally, if you're vertically challenged like me, you may find it challenging to balance on them. I attempted to mount the E-Bike, lost my footing, and ended up face-planting on the ground. Thankfully, I escaped with a banged-up elbow but no broken bones. After shaking off the mishap, I mustered the courage to get back on the bike. Fortunately, my partner's bike could accommodate two riders, and I enjoyed being the passenger. It was so much fun that I decided to order my own E-Bike, opting for a smaller, stylish model known as 'The Hornet,' as I didn't want anything too tame. We immediately headed to Canadian Tire, where we purchased helmets and a heavy-duty bike lock. My partner chose a helmet with spikes, while I went for a cute one with cat ears. Yes, I know, I want a big badass bike and yes, I would zip around town while wearing a cat ear helmet, go figure!

Our initial bike rides were filled with excitement, and I was amazed at how quickly those bikes could go. We rode until the early hours of the morning, the wind in our hair and a sense of freedom in our hearts. As we cruised through town, I clung to him for dear life but also savouring the romantic and sweet experience of being whisked away on a bike. The night sky was breathtaking, with only a few clouds allowing me to marvel at the beauty of the stars.

Now that we own a home with a shed in the backyard, we're thrilled to have a dedicated space to store our growing collection of two-wheeled toys. I like to think that my partner and I never truly grew up; we simply upgraded to cooler toys!
